Family vacation- travel

The day before we left on vacation it snowed a big, soft, swirly, whiteout kind of snow storm.  It was BEAUTIFUL!!

We woke exceptionally early on Sunday and were on the road before 4am.  After checking in and dropping off everything, we were finally on our way!!

I discovered the camera on the front of my phone doesn't take a very good quality picture... But this was too cute to pass up!! Lael and I had the back seat of the plane...
With Tim and Eli just in front of us!!

We had a great flight!! both kids really enjoyed the time... and the only issue Lael had was when we handed off the stroller, just before boarding.  She began to cry and ran to me, wrapping her arms around my leg.  I had wondered if there would be any fear for her that she was going away from us, since this was the first time we had traveled like this since we brought her home almost 7 months earlier.  However, she calmed down as soon as I picked her up and comforted her.   She even squeezed in a short nap on the trip.
We had a short layover in Miami.  Time to stretch the legs and burn some excess energy:)  Eli ended up doing some games wile Lael and I did a clothes change.

Our second flight was also quite smooth.   We were able to get 4 seats together:) Eli, Lael and I on one side...

And Daddy on the other:)

Eli studied up about the plane, figuring out how to do everything they mentioned:)
We tried lots of different games that Eli had always loved, like making a tent... but she didn't care a whole lot for these...
And soon, Lael was asleep:)  Yeah!! She slept for a little under 2 hours.  It was such a nice flight!!!

We finally began descending... But were only able to see clouds, and occasionally water...
When finally, LAND HO!!! We saw St. Croix just below us:)

After landing, getting luggage and our rental car, we were off!! with 2 very happy (slap happy by this point) kids in the back seat:)
Winding through the island we passed a race track with several horses being led around, and the kick off of the HUGE agricultural fair.  Looked like everyone on the island was out and about.

Then, finally, up ahead, we spied the entrance to our resort...
Ahhhh.... The view never grows old.  We keep thanking God for the beauty He has blessed us with on this earth!!
We got all settled in and unpacked...
Changed into more appropriate island attire...
And took off for the grocery store.

So nice to have a full refrigerator and partial kitchen in our apartment.

The kids went to bed easily and slept all night... Until almost 7:30 the next morning:)
