What an awesome day we had!! Lael was already in the room when we got there;)
She warmed right up to us today and we had a BLAST!!!! Giggles, a deep throaty laugh, and the quizzical look of "I don't know who you are, or what to think of you, but you are FUNNY!" just like Eli used to give me;)
Actually playing with her and watching her interact with us both was pure joy!! We can't even think about a month long separation without deep pain. Thanking God for carrying us through the time, and planning a lot of stuff to do with Eli to shower attention on him.
Lael again began to sag a little... Wanting to lay her head on our chest... So we got out her new outfit again... UNBELIEVABLE!! It was not a fluke Monday. She almost squealed with delight.
We changed her just in time, as Yelena came in and said we were going to get her passport photos taken. We were, of course, concerned about her becoming car sick as we drove... But she took it all in, eyes wide open, looking all over with a sparkle.
We got out and walked to the passport building... I was carrying her facing out- she couldn't get enough of the sights around her! She was kicking her feet and laughing out loud in pure delight. I was impossible not to join her... What huge smiles she coaxed from us!!
She had a few excellent poses when the camera person wasn't ready, and then decided she liked bouncing her knees again. They brought out a rocking horse... O how she enjoyed rocking on that... No fingers in her mouth the whole time!!
We arrived back at the baby home and had a few more too brief moments with her, and then said, "Paka!!! Zaftra!!!" goodbye!! See you tomorrow!!
Then we had a Chance to talk to Svetlana, the baby home Dr. I asked Yelena to tell her she resembled my cousin and I felt such a connection to her. She smiled even bigger and said Eli looks just like her husband an then gave me a big hug... Said we were family. That was nice!! Gotta love Huggers in a land that shows little emotion to outsiders. Made me feel so much closer and accepted;)
We picked up Lael's passport photos... So cute!' and will be coming back tomorrow for our last visit on this trip... Ach!!! I can not think about it!!!! My goal will be live in the moment only.... No planning the future while we are with her tomorrow... Only complete enjoyment in the present.
Thank you for this road, for making the path straight... Leading an guiding us to this child you have prepared for us... May we raise her to be all you intended her to be and be the parents you desire us to be for both our precious children you have placed in our care.
