Our last trip over

Our trip so far has been uneventful. I would say very smooth... But there has been a lot of turbulence on all our flights. One of our pilots mentioned that we were just at the top of the clouds.

Our travel has been delightfully without incident so far. The stewardess on the transatlantic flight was very kind and showed me how the bassinet seat works. There are 2 bulkhead seats in the plane that have 3 small rivets in the wall. The bassinet comes out and fits into the holes in the wall, snapping in securely. This will give us a place to lay Lael down on that long 10 hr flight on the way home when she falls asleep. The airlines are so good and helpful with the little children. So excited to have her with us soon!!

We arrived in Moscow and stopped at the check in gate to have them assign our seats for our evening flight before we ever left the airport. Oh how nice to have our boarding passes in hand. When we got back later that evening, all we had to do was drop our bags at the proper counter and we were ready to go!! (the line was very long to check in)

The Novotel was very nice. A great shower and comfortable bed.. So nice to break up the travel. We were able to get about 6.5 hours of slumber.... Highly recommended for the 12+ hour layover!!

It brought back many memories of our first trip. Couldn't stop thinking of our friends, the Goeppner family we travelled with. They gave us adjoining rooms and Penny and I had the hardest time resting. We had such fun- and, yes, I, too, can't believe how big our boys have grown!!

Lunch at the Irish Pub at the airport was nice again. I have been battling some GI issues the last few weeks... So the grilled panini bread with ham and cheese was just right!

We couldn't believe how many children were at our gate. They are all crashed now on the plane- not a peep to be heard. Made us miss our kids even more. We're kinda halfway in between the 2 right now:/ it was very good to be able to Skype call home and talk to the family for a little while;)

We were quite excited to see the blank gate screen change to list our flight;) The new airport here is soo very nice. In a few seconds, the screen flips over to English. Sooo English speaking friendly now!

Yeah!! Ready to board the plane for our last flight East!! So excited!!

Supper was very good!! The tilapia was cooked to flaky perfection and my portion had very little sauce. The rice was perfect!! The salad made a great sandwich.. Thick yummy slice of baby Swiss and 2 small sliced of cold chicken. The slice of wheat bread was a perfect base. And Mmmmmmm!!! The 2 chocolate candy bars are always a hit!!

Aeroflot has great food;)

Only an hour away from landing. Thank you for your prayers. We pray the trip home goes just as smooth!

And to top it all off the flight through the sunrise lit clouds was spectacular!! (what we could see;))

  1. Reading your descriptive post about your travels almost makes me wish I were with you...almost!;)
Seriously though, we are so excited for you!!! So happy that the airlines have gotten better as well. You two are experts by now! Could it be that you have 20 flights to and from Russia under your belts?! You need to write a book!:)
    Love and Prayers,
    The Goeppners
