Environmental science

Earlier this summer, just after break began and I was not more consumed with work hours, I noted that Eli really enjoys structured learning... And so do I!!
So off we went on an adventure... Into the wilds of our own back yard and Tim's sister's.

We prepared well... With a back pack full of paraphernalia ...like disposable gloves, baggies for samples and, of course, a notebook as a scientific journal.... Along with other essentials, like water and granola bars;)
It was a gorgeous day;) Tim had just mowed where we were, so the stinging nettles were very few now. What fun we had!

On the side of the big hill, scaling the tundra and posing by the massive roots of this old tree....

Lael didn't quite make it... A little slip and slide and she was very glad to have mommy drag her up;)

Huge fallen tree... Great photo opp;)

The creek was the source of the most info on our trip. While Lael collected sticks to hit the water with, Eli did his exploration....

Bringing everything back to base to document and make observations.

What a fun afternoon!!
